Geo Authorization feature is available only for Track cloud users.
Geo Authorization enables users to define one or more Geo-Points with the boundaries around their facilities. Once these boundaries are defined, any IN/OUT activity inside or outside the boundary is validated. If the IN/OUT activities are outside the defined boundary contradict with the Geo Authorization setup, then the events are flagged for inconsistency.
To use the boundaries feature, the synced events from the vACS Management Console must have the GPS coordinates. Other pre-requisite includes setting up the plant code and their associated cost objects.
The boundary can be associated with one or multiple Plant Codes that would link cost objects to the boundary. However, a plant code can only be associated with one boundary. Boundaries may overlap, so the plant codes associate with multiple overlapping boundaries would be used for allocations.
Ensure the Geo Validation and Geo Boundaries Data are available in Track before proceeding to allocate the hours where the Geo Authorization feature is used. During the allocation process, if a cost object is submitted, Track compares the cost object’s plant code with the events boundary’s plant code that associates with the allocation. When the validated events have been allocated, these events are tagged to a defined boundary.
